About Our Company
Alaska Risk Management brings 25 plus years of quality safety, loss control, and risk management solutions to The Great Land.
Alaska Risk Management was originally started in 2015 to provide a semester-long Youth Worker Safety Program at Mat-Su Central for students in Wasilla. This program combined OSHA 10-hour, CPR/First Aid/AED, and Risk Management training into a 30-hour block that provided high school students with the tools necessary to work safely in Alaska. This successful curriculum trained dozens of students and prepared them for the Alaska workforce.
That philosophy of proactive safety-first risk reduction has not changed. In 2025, Alaska Risk Management doubled down to expand operations beyond OSHA 10-hour and 30-hour courses to provide risk management and safety consulting, loss control inspections for insurance carriers, and jobsite inspections for Alaskan businesses.
Our Mission
The mission is simple: protect people and property from exposures by providing the best risk solutions tailored to each business.

Sean Dewalt, ARM, OHST, CHST
Principal Consultant
Sean Dewalt has been effectively managing safety and risk in Alaska since 2000.
He first formed Snow Dynamics Avalanche Safety Programs in Girdwood, Alaska after five years of completing several professional ski guide and avalanche safety programs across North America. As an avalanche safety instructor and consultant, Sean used Turnagain Pass and Hatcher Pass as the perfect field classrooms for studying snow, guiding backcountry powder skiing, and instructing mountain weather forecasting. He mapped Turnagain Pass for avalanche terrain and helped form the Chugach National Forest Avalanche Information Center’s avalanche forecasting and snow observers’ programs. In the summer, Sean guided helicopter glacier trekking and climbing in multiple glacial basins off the famed Juneau Icefield for TEMSCO and Northstar Helicopters.
As his interest in risk management grew, he transitioned into working for government and private sector insurance companies as a Risk Manager and Loss Control Consultant, acquiring an Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and several other OSHA designations. Sean has a proven track record for risk reduction, safety culture enhancement, regulatory compliance, and reducing the total cost of risk for businesses. He has delivered quality OSHA, risk management, and safety-related training presentations within Alaska from Utqiagvik to Ketchikan and everywhere in between for decades.
He lives in Wasilla, Alaska with his wife Sarah, two wonderful Golden Retrievers, and one rowdy bunny.
